THATTA, March 19: Indian Navy is reported to have arrested 13 fishermen in Sir Creek near taluka Jati on Sunday night. According to reports reaching here, two boats -- Al Yousuf and Al Majeed -- with 13 fishermen aboard were fishing in the area of Sir Creek when Indian Navy vessels resorted to indiscriminate firing and Indian personnel took the fishermen into custody besides seizing their boats.

The arrested fishermen were identified as Abdul Salam, Asad Ali, Mohammad Hanif, Mohammad Saleem, Naeem, Nawaz, Ilyas and Yousuf Ali.

Chairman of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum Syed Mohammad Ali Shah confirmed the of fishermen’s arrest by the Indian navy.
