LHC orders PR to open level-crossing

MULTAN, Oct 19: The Lahore High Court, Multan bench, on Friday ordered the railways to open the Munawwarabad level-crossing.

Petitioner Abdul Majeed Majid, the chairman of Islahi Committee, Ismailabad, told the court the level-crossing had been closed for the last four months on the orders of PR authorities after the Multan District Council failed to pay its maintenance cost and clear arrears.

He complained that citizens living on both sides of the level crossing were suffering a lot.

The LHC adjourned the petition for Oct 26 and ordered the railways authorities to open the level-crossing.—APP
