Imran moves into second round

LAHORE, March 16: Twenty-five matches were decided in the U-19 and U-16 events on the first day of the National badminton championship at the Iqbal Park Sports Complex here on Friday.

Sixteen matches were played in the U-19 and nine in the U-16 category.

In the U-19 category Imran Khan of Pakistan Railways stretched Punjab’s Ahsan Imtiaz to three sets. Ahsan won the first set 23-21 but Imran made a comeback to take the next two sets 21-11, 21-9 to reach the second round.
