SHEIKHUPURA, March 16: Punjab PPP president Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the army rulers were bent upon to destroy all the state institutions only to prolong their rule.
He was speaking to a gathering at the Faisalabad bypass here on Friday. Mr Qureshi was going to Nankana along with other party leaders to address a public meeting there.
He said the army did not even spare the chief justice of Pakistan. The suspension of the CJP had proven that the general, who himself was unconstitutional president, played unconstitutional role in this connection, Mr Qureshi added.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Mr Qureshi and his convoy was given a rousing welcome in Nankana.
He was taken to the venue in a procession. Mr Qureshi said at the meeting that the general after ruining parliament, had now assaulted judiciary.
He said the days of the regime were numbered.
ACCIDENT: A grade seven student, Asifa, was crushed to death by a speeding truck near Machike oil depot on Sargodha Road on Friday morning on her way to school.
Saddar police are investigating.
ROBBER: Two gunmen robbed the shop of Nisar Ahmad in the Civil Lines area in broad daylight.
According to Nisar, the bandits came to his shop on a motorcycle and took away cash and other valuables.
