KARACHI: HSC exam on old pattern

Published March 16, 2007

KARACHI, March 15: The Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) Karachi on Thursday announced that the annual examination for the higher secondary school certificate 2007 will be conducted ‘on the old pattern’ of examination.

In a notification, the BIE said that in pursuance of the decision taken by the committee of chairmen of the higher secondary boards across the province at its meeting on Feb 26, decided to conduct examination on the old pattern in accordance with ‘old scheme of studies’.

The approval to the decision taken by the CoC had been given by the controlling authority, the Sindh governor, it added.

Officials in the Board of Intermediate Education said that it was a proposal to change the examination pattern from the year 2007 examination. Marks of practical exams were proposed to be reduced to 15 and similar changes were proposed in theory papers.

However, the idea was dropped and the practical exam would be of 25 marks and theory papers would be on the pattern of old papers.
