150 houses demolished in Toba

TOBA TEK SINGH, March 12: Labour Party Pakistan’s has condemned the demolition of 150 houses in Chak 325-JB (Dullam) Katch Abadi. In a press statement here on Monday, LLP leader Tariq Mahmood said that poor peasants had been left shelterless.

He added that influential people were eyeing the land vacated as a result of demolition of their houses.

He demanded compensation and allotment of alternate land to those displaced.

Meanwhile various NGOs have provided tents to the villagers who have been rendered homeless as a result of cleanup operation against encroachments on state land.
