Robbers kill guard

LAHORE, March 8: Two robbers shot dead a security guard in a broad daylight robbery on Poonch Road on Thursday.

Two motorcyclists intercepted Aamir in front of a store and held him at gunpoint. Department store security guard Siddique, 22, was watching the incident.

He challenged the robbers and fired shots in the air to harass them, but the robbers fired at him. They escaped with Rs5,000 in cash and a cell phone snatched from Aamir.

Passers-by and residents of the area removed Siddique to Services Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Siddique was a resident of Jhang and had been doing the job at the shop for the last one year. —Staff Reporter
