PESHAWAR, March 8: Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that the incidents of terrorism that occurred in tribal areas are considered to have taken place in settled areas which causes misconception about the province in foreign countries.

“Misunderstanding and misinformation regarding the province have a direct bearing on the administrative affairs of the province. They also create security fears among local investors,” said Mr Durrani while talking to the Chief Executive of Chirat Cement Factory, Aslam Farooq, who called on him at the Frontier House here on Thursday.

Stressing the need for evolving a comprehensive strategy to tackle the problem of misinformation about the situation in the NWFP, the chief minister said the overall atmosphere in the province was ideal for foreign and local investment.

He said that media could play a vital role in projecting the true image of the province.

For better utilisation of the resources available in the province, the government was committed to providing all possible facilities and incentives to foreign and local investors, he said, adding that this would bring positive changes in the living standard of the common man.

Mr Durrani said he wanted to utilise the potential of investment in various sectors of the province.

He said the hardworking people of the province could enhance industrial production, generating more job opportunities. —APP
