PESHAWAR, Feb 22: A local court here on Thursday adjourned hearing till Feb 27, of a bail application filed by the former NWFP chief minister Aftab Sherpao in the passport case.

During the proceeding the prosecution informed the court of Judicial Magistrate Adil Akber that the FIA had not produced the record concerned.

Advocates Arshid Ali and Taj Mahal Afridi stated that the prosecution was using delaying tactics.

The prosecution presented jail warrants of the accused before the court, and sought extension in the judicial remand in his absence as the 14-day judicial custody in the case expired on Thursday, and Sherpao could not be brought from prison keeping in view law and order situation.

The prosecutor claimed that if he was brought from prison his supporters would attend the court proceedings, and create problems for people.
