HYDERABAD, March 7: The excesses against women are increasing everyday despite the passage of women protection bill, said the speakers who had gathered on the eve of `International Women Day’ on Wednesday.

The Aurat Foundation and Nari Development Society had organised a seminar on women's rights in Tando Muhammad Khan.

Shabana Baloch, Faiz Mohammad Solangi, Faizul Hassan Arain advocate and councillor Shakila Begum said that till today women were being ill-treated and face all sorts of abuses, especially torture both mental and physical, and rape.

The participants condemned the underage marriages of girls and demanded of the government to implement the women protection act in letter and spirit.

Advocate Faizul Hassan Arain delivered a talk on the legal rights of women.
