KARACHI, March 7: Berthing activity was slow as only one ship carrying diesel oil was accommodated berth during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Berth occupancy rose to sixty per cent at the port where six ships, Nedlloyed Africa and London, Denden, Al-Salam-II, Ievoli Splendor and Calm Seas, were busy in loading and unloading containers, wheat, diesel oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume of 62,784 tons comprising 56,515 tons of import and 6,269 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was active as Nedlloyed Africa and London left while Al-Salam-II and Denden were due to depart.
