Schoolboy electrocuted

LAHORE, March 3: A schoolboy was electrocuted while his fellow suffered electric shock while fixing a board on the roof of their school in Samanabad on Saturday morning.

Police said a grade eight student, Shaharyar, and grade nine student Mubashir were fixing the board in Unique Grammar School on New Mozang Road when they touched 11-KV line.

Shaharyar died on the spot while Mubashir sustained shock and admitted to hospital where he was stated to be stable.

Shaharyar’s father Javed, a Hall Road trader, registered a case against school principal Zulfiqar who reportedly suffered heart attack on seeing the dead student and was rushed to Ganga Ram Hospital. He was referred to PIC.

ROBBERY: Robbers barged into Sultan’s house in Q Block of Model Town, held the family at gunpoint and escaped with cash and jewellery worth Rs100,000.

Robbers forced their entry into a house in Mustafabad and made off with cash and valuables worth thousands of rupees.

Two robbers came to shop No 6 at Landmark Plaza and snatched cash and a cell phone at gunpoint.

Three gun-totting people burst into Faizan General Store near Riaz Chowk in Johar Town, held the owner at gunpoint and took away cash and a cell phone.

Two robbers intercepted Ejaz near Punjab Assembly and snatched Rs2,500 in cash and a cell phone at gunpoint. They shot and injured him when he put up resistance.

Ejaz, a resident of Raiwind, had come to PIA office for booking a ticket. He was rushed to Ganga Ram Hospital.
