Two-year RI for keeping illegal arms

MIRPURKHAS, Feb 21: The second judicial magistrate, Mirpurkhas, Anwar Ahmed Memon, has sentenced Mir Khan Rind for two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs5,000 on charges of possessing illegal arms.

The same court also awarded punishment of one year rigorous imprisonment to Maroof Rind and a fine of Rs5000.

EDUCATION FUND: The District Nazim of Mirpurkhas, Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani, has said that school management committees would be constituted soon which will be led by the Nazim of the concerned union council.

He said funds of the education department would be utilized in the supervision of these committees.

He was addressing the function organized in connection of the parents day at the Government Primary Boys School, Khan Town, here on Thursday.

He said that Rs330 million would be spent on the primary education while Rs10 million would be utilized on books and uniforms to be provided free of cost to the deserving students.

ARMS SEIZED: The Taluka police the other day seized three pistols, three magazines and 14 bullets which were pointed out by three accused arrested in Gobindram murder case.

A case under Arms Act against Ghulam Shabbir, Haji Mohammad and Muhammad Hassan has been registered.
