KARACHI, March 1: Two ships carrying containers and chemicals are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday,according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves remained modest where five ships were berthed to unload and load containers cement and palm oil. They are: Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Fortune and Harmony to unload and load containers, Eastmed Carrier to load cement and Maersk Barry to offload palm oil. Four ships, Harmony, APL Jabel Ali, Manchester and Jade Trader departed on Thursday, while Y.M. Fortune and Tower Bridge are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity showed a modest increase at 70,561 tons comprising 29,589 tons of export cargo including 2,084 tons of rice and 3,064 tons of cement and 40,972 tons of import cargo.

The following are Friday’s arrivals: Al-Marwah with chemicals and Global Prince with containers.
