KARACHI, Feb 28: The acting controller of examination of Karachi University has informed the students that according to the decision of academic council, the facilities of ‘division raised’ and ‘failure condone’ were abandoned for professional examinations.

Besides, the ‘head of passing’ for non-professional examination has been enhanced up to 40 per cent and ‘aggregate’ up to 45 per cent and it would be implemented on the students enrolled in the year 2006 and onwards.

In the meantime, the examination department of Karachi University announced the schedule of BA (Pass) first year’s home economics practical examination 2006.

According to the KU notification issued here on Wednesday, practical exams date for Abdullah Govt Girls College is March 8; Apwa Govt Girls College March 6; Govt Degree College for Women Sharea Liaquat March 7; H.I. Govt Osmania Girls College March 8; H.R.H Govt Aga Khan Girls College March 10; Islamia Govt College for Women March 12; Khatoon-i-Pakistan Govt Girls College March 9; KMA Degree Girls College March 14; PECHS Govt Girls College March 15; and for Sir Syed Govt Girls College the practical exams date is March 19.

AIOU: The Allama Iqbal Open University, Karachi campus, has extended the date for submission of admission forms without late fee up to March 15. The fee can be deposited in any of the designated bank branches.Meanwhile, a notification issued by the Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi informed the candidates of Dow Medical College and Sindh Medical College that the practical/viva of second professional MBBS supplementary examination 2007 would be held at their respective departments.

According to the schedule, Pharmacology practical/viva (first batch) will be held on March 1, Pharmacology (second batch) on March 2, Pathology (all candidates) March 4, and Forensic Medicine (all candidates) March 6. All practical exams would start at 8:30am.
