Power fluctuations reportedly also damaged electric home appliances in some areas.
Residents of union council 1 alleged that Wapda officials concerned had failed to restore power supply to the area despite repeated complaints lodged by them.
When contacted, SDO Nasrullah Khan claimed that Mepco staff was busy repairing the damaged transformers.
A Mepco official said requesting anonymity that a majority of faults occurred due to Kite flying in the area despite the ban.
