KARACHI, Feb 26: Praveen Amre’s brilliant century failed to stop Pakistan Seniors from taking an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the second game of the three-match series against India Seniors as the visitors beat the hosts by four wickets at Calicut, Kozhiode, according to a message received here on Monday.

Pakistan Seniors had also won the opening match of the series by similar margin in Odaipur.

Man of the match Amre, playing in front of 15,000 spectators, struck 12 fours and five sixes while former all-rounder Robin Singh scored 49 including five fours as Indian Seniors piled up 292-6 in their 40 overs after being put in to bat first by Pakistan skipper Abdul Qadir.

Pakistan Seniors romped home for the loss of six wickets with nine balls to spare with brilliant batting display from Ijaz Faqih and Mansoor Akhtar.

Former Test all-rounder Ijaz smashed five sixes and six fours in his 92-ball 83 and ex-Test batsman Mansoor continued his good batting form with a 79-ball 69 spiced with eight fours and brace of sixes.

Ijaz and Mansoor punished Indian Seniors pace-cum-spin attack by sharing a 126-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Because of security concerns third match of the series, which was to be played at Meerut on Tuesday, has been shifted to Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, New Delhi.
