Zoology moot to begin tomorrow

MULTAN, Feb 25: The Zoological Society of Pakistan and Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) are jointly holding a three-day Pakistan zoology congress from Feb 27 (tomorrow).

It will be the 27th congress of zoology and delegates from all over Pakistan, besides some foreign countries will attend the event, says a release.

Federal Food Minister Haji Sikandar Hayat Bosan will preside over the inaugural session of the congress.

The moot will serve as a forum for senior and younger researchers and students to exchange ideas, enhance collaboration and establish friendship to move forward by way of scientific research in various disciplines of zoology.

Participants of the congress will present results of their research in the form of oral presentation or posters and will take part in scientific discussions.

All major areas of zoology and related disciplines will be covered in the congress, including cell biology, molecular biology, bio-informatics, bio-technology, entomology and pest management, bio-remediation, genetics, toxicology, parasitology, microbiology, physiology, Palaeontology, environmental biology, wildlife conservation, fisheries, freshwater biology and marine biology.

BZU VC Dr Muhammad Zafarullah Khan will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the congress on March 1. —APP
