GUJRANWALA, Feb 23: Most of relatives of alleged killer of minister Zille Huma were released on Friday after interrogation while raids were being conducted to arrest other suspects.

A source said that accused Maulvi Muhammad Sarwer Mughal was still being quizzed by inquiry teams led by the SP (investigation) at Ghakkhar police station.

Police had picked up accused’s two sisters and their husbands Abdul Wahid and Abdul Hamid and father-in-law Maulvi Muhammad Sharif from Sharifpura locality in Ghakkhar Town while his brother Muhammad Afzal from Naushera Road on Thursday. During interrogation, they all denied that the accused had links with any jihadi outfit.

When contacted, SP (investigation) Malik Imtiaz Ahmed said that there was no further progress in the case.

Meanwhile, people from various walks of life, including ruling party leaders, continued visiting the house of the deceased woman minister in Cantonment for offering their condolences with the family.

EXAM CENTRE: The Federal Public Service Commission has set up an examination center for local candidates at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Gujranwala.

Some 300 candidates of six districts will appear in the examination, which is scheduled to be held from March 22 to April 10.
