HYDERABAD, Feb 22: Jeay Sindh Students Federation activists staged protest demonstrations in many parts of interior Sindh on Thursday against the arrest of JSSF president Kehar Ansari.

In Hyderabad, two protest demonstrations were held by the activists of JSSF Hyderabad district chapter, Sindh Agriculture University unit and Sindh University unit.

Speaking on the occasion, Habib Sindhi, Atta Vistro, Zain Jhatial, Ghulam Nabi Panhyar and other JSSF leaders condemned the arrest of Kehar Ansari allegedly at the instance of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology administration.

They said Mr Ansari was picked up from the university campus on Wednesday by law-enforcement agencies and was being tortured.

They said that the struggle against the university administration would continue till the acceptance of the charter of demands of the students. They demanded immediate release of Mr Ansari.

NAWABSHAH: JSSF activists boycotted classes in Quaid-i-Awam University of Engineering and Technology and staged a protest demonstration on Sakrand road. They also burnt tyres as a result vehicular traffic remained suspended on the road.

KHAIRPUR: JSSF activists, led by Akbar Makol and Ayaz Sehto, staged a demonstration in Shah Abdul Latif University. A group of the activists also observed token hunger strike on the Court Road.
