Infant’s body found in drain

LAHORE, Feb 16: The body of a three-month-old child was found in Green Town on Friday. Passersby spotted the body in a drain near Qadri Chowk and informed police who shifted it to the city mortuary.

Police claimed that he was strangulated.

ROOF COLLAPSE: Five members of a family suffered injuries when the roof of their house in Sabzazar collapsed on Friday.

Iqbal was living in a single storey house along with his wife and four children. On Friday, the roof caved in as it was affected by recent rains. Iqbal’s wife and children suffered injuries and rushed to hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger.

ARREST: Police arrested a man on Friday for committing a fraud by impersonating as Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan.

Zarai Taraqqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) zonal chief Khalid Shaikh said accused Nawaz introduced himself as Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan and asked him to grant a loan for the purchase of a tractor to a person.

He said on suspicion he contacted the army and learnt that the man was a fraud. The accused was successfully trapped at his office on Friday, he added.

He said the accused told the investigators that he had committed frauds in Karachi and Hyderabad as well.
