HYDERABAD, Feb 15: A group of students of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences staged a demonstration outside the press club on Thursday against the director (research) of the university, Dr Ghulam Ali Qureshi, whom they accused of creating hurdles in the way of doctors who had been selected for PhD scholarship.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that a lady doctor, Nusrat Nizamani, had passed the test of the Higher Education Commission and was awarded PhD scholarship for studies abroad.

Dr Salman Memon, Javed Bajeer, Kabeer Kolachi and others said that Dr Nizamani had been granted admission to the University of Nottingham, UK, but Dr Qureshi had withheld her papers for ulterior motives.

They said that if the papers of Dr Nizamani were not signed, her admission would be cancelled. They demanded an inquiry against Dr Qureshi.
