KARACHI, Feb 15: Berthing activity was slow as only one ship to load rice was accommodated berth at MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, one more ship carrying furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 50pc as five ships, Multan, Master Nicos, Gemini, Al-Farabi and Atlantic Sun, were busy in loading and unloading rice, edible oil, chemicals and coal.

A cargo volume of 30,146 tons comprising 27,575 tons of import and 2,571 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also slow as Atlantic Sun left the port while Al-Farabi was due to depart.
