KARACHI, Feb 14: Yousuf-ul-Islam and Sultan Anwar clinched the Karachi Club Pair Bridge tournament with an impressive score of 69.34 per cent at the KC Card Room on Tuesday evening.

The pair of Yousuf and Sultan showed their class on Board five where spade slam was ice.

A.K. Bhurgri-A.Q.Memon put up a fight with 54.43 per cent score but finished as runners-up in the 15-pair competition.

Mahmood Naqvi-Dr A. Hasan secured third spot with 54.2.69 per cent score and Farhatullah Khan-Abdul Muqeet finished fourth with score of 52.69 per cent.

Preliminary trials to select Pakistan women team to participate in the 14th Asian and Middle East (BFAME) championship will commence at the Karachi Hall from Feb 21.

Six teams including four from Karachi and two from upcountry will feature in the trials.—APP
