LAHORE, Feb 14: The City District Government Lahore has decided to relaunch its drive against illegal cable TV channels and obscenity in stage plays being screened by various cable operators or loop-holders (distributors).
A decision to the effect was taken by CDGL officers at a meeting with representatives of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority and cable operators here on Wednesday.

The cable operators were asked to immediately report in black and white to the CDGL and the Pemra injection of porno movies by their respective loop-holders and providing their lists to both the authorities so that the culprits could be easily spotted.
The cable operators were asked to immediately stop relaying foreign channel landing rights which had not been obtained from Pemra. However, Pemra would see to it that how to deal with the public demand for these channels.
The CDGL will release an advertisement campaign in the media in a couple of days to urge the citizens to contact the city government (at phone number 139) or Pemra authorities for registering any complaint against cable operators. District Environment Officer Tariq Zaman has been designated focal person from the CDGL side for initiating action against the violators in coordination with Pemra team.
