KARACHI, Feb 14: The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists will hold countrywide rallies on Monday in protest against the ‘mysterious kidnapping’ of Peshawar journalist Suhail Qalandar and government’s failure to trace him.

A PFUJ statement on Wednesday directed all its affiliate unions to organise protest meetings and processions and wear black arms-bands on the day. It appealed to human rights organisations, trade unions, lawyers and people from all sections of society to join the protest rallies.

The PFUJ also appealed to international journalists bodies to observe the protest day on February 19.
