Dollar near 4-year highs

Published February 13, 2007

LONDON, Feb 12: The dollar came close to a four-year high against the yen on Monday as traders continued selling the Japanese currency, ignoring the G7's subtle hint about excessive risk taking over the weekend.

The dollar hit a peak of 122.10 against the yen, just short of the four year high of 122.19.

The US currency later stood at 121.75 yen in late European trading, up from 121.71 yen late in New York on Friday.

The euro fell to $1.2961 from $1.3003 late on Friday.—AFP
