MUZAFFARABAD, Feb 20: The AJK Board of Revenue has released Rs18.5 million to the deputy commissioners of five districts.

The amount will be distributed among the people displaced from the border areas of Azad Kashmir in recent Indian shelling from across the Line of Control, an official handout said here on Wednesday.

Out of the total money, Rs 500 per head to 37,000 people from 6,559 families would be given.

The decision for providing this immediate compensation to the victims was taken by the AJK Cabinet at its meeting on Feb 1.
