ATTOCK, Feb 6: The driver and conductor of one of the Dawn’s delivery vans were killed in a road accident on the G.T. Road near Burhan village early Tuesday morning.

Police said the van (Peshawar C-1229), which was carrying newspapers for distribution in Attock and other areas of NWFP, overturned after the vehicle’s tie-rod end collapsed.

The van then crashed into a tree, resulting into the death of driver Mohammad Hussain and conductor Khalid.

Staff stationed at Burhan police post rushed to the scene of the accident and took the dead bodies and vehicle into custody. Dawn’s Circulation Manager in Islamabad, Mr Jehangir, also reached the spot.

Later, the police handed over the bodies to the victims’ families after fulfilling the legal formalities.
