KARACHI: SBC elects office-bearers

Published February 7, 2007

KARACHI, Feb 6; The Sindh Bar Council has elected Muhammad Amin Lakhani as its vice-chairman for 2007. The council also elected chairmen for its standing committees at its meeting on February 4. Advocate Aqil Lodhi was voted chairman of the SBC human rights committee.

Speaking at the council, Advocate Lodhi said the human rights situation was worsening in the country by the day. Street crimes, unemployment and rising prices were forcing the common man to commit suicide. No institution had been left intact to solve people’s problems and provide them relief, the lawyer said.
