NAWABSHAH, Feb 5: The Sindh wildlife department registered the first offence report (FOR) under the wildlife protection act against unidentified poachers for killing a hog deer at Pai game reserve, here on Monday.
A team of forest and wildlife department, headed by DFO Anwar Baloch, reached the spot after which the poachers escaped leaving behind the dead hog deer.
The case was later reported to the local police, who were trying to locate the poachers with the help of local wildlife staff.
The Deputy Conservator of Wildlife Hyderabad, Saeed Baloch, told Dawn on Monday that the FOR was lodged against unknown poachers.
Meanwhile, the district nazim of Nawabshah, Ms Faryal Talpur, has condemned the killing of hog deer. Criticizing the wildlife personnel of Nawabshah, she said that it was the duty of department to look after the animals and take care of their habitat.
She said that she was shocked over the incident and also lodged a complaint with the Sindh wildlife department as well as to the WWF.
