KARACHI, Feb 4: The Pakhtoon Action Committee (Loya Jirga) on Sunday has warned that if anybody tried to recover royalty more than the official rate from the truck owners they would launch a protest movement from Thursday.

PAC chief Shahi Syed said truck owners were paying officially notified royalty – Rs161 for dumper, Rs119 for Hino truck and Rs105 for Bedford truck, but the contractors, having official patronage, were recovering royalty at an increased rate.

He urged government to ensure that the notified royalty was recovered and unscrupulous contractors did not collect more.

He urged truck owners to come at Toll Plaza on Super Highway on Thursday at 10am to show strength so that contractors might not dare to levy illegal royalty.
