Afghan panel to be invited

ISLAMABAD, Feb 3: The Pakistan Jirga Commission has decided to invite the Regional Peace Jirga Preparatory Commission of Afghanistan to visit Islamabad during the current month for discussions to explore ways and means to bring peace to Afghanistan.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Jirga Commission, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao, will invite Pir Syed Ahmad Gilani, chief of the Afghan commission.

The decision was taken at the maiden meeting of Pakistan’s commission here. The members expressed keen desire to help stabilise the situation in Afghanistan and the tribal areas.
