PML leader killed over rivalry

JARANWALA, Feb 3: A PML office-bearer was shot dead over an old rivalry in Awaghat near here on Saturday morning.

Police said former UC nazim and PML Jaranwala secretary-general, Mian Saleem, was going from Chak 65-GB in his car to drop his two children at Awaghat. Accused Rana Tikka and his accomplice intercepted Saleem and shot him dead.

His body was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where doctors confirmed his death.

Meanwhile, MPA Mian Haider Bari, town nazim Mian Muhammad Akram and others have condoled with the bereaved family. They also condemned the murder and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. —APP
