Another arrest in jirga case

KHAIRPUR, Feb 3: The Gambat police on Saturday arrested a villager, Mohammad Ismail, for participating in a jirga that declared two women as karis and gave two minor girls in marriage in the families of ‘aggrieved’ parties as compensation for disgrace they faced.

The jirga was held at the guest house (autaq) of Miran Bux in Gul Mohammad Shaikh village on January 2. — Correspondent
