Five die in Khuzdar explosion

QUETTA, Feb 2: Five people were killed and four others injured when a gas cylinder exploded in a village in Khuzdar district on Thursday night.

According to sources, the incident occured in a house in Baghbana village when a woman was cooking food. “The roof and walls of the house were blown up in the explosion that rocked the entire village,” said the sources.

The woman and a minor girl were killed on the spot and seven others were injured.

The victims were shifted to the Khuzdar civil hospital where doctors confirmed two deaths.

Three more people succumbed to their injuries in the hospital on Friday, hospital sources said.

They said the condition of the injured was improving.

Police identified four victims of the incident as Zainab Bibi, Bilqis Bibi, Samiullah and Mohammad Idress.

The name of the minor girl could not be ascertained who also killed in the incident.
