KARACHI: PML withdraws candidate

KARACHI, Feb 2: The Pakistan Muslim League, Sindh, has announced withdrawal of its candidate, Mahfooz Yar Khan, from the by-election for NA-250 in favour of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate, Akhlaq Hussain Abidi.

This was announced by Secretary-General of the PML, Sindh, Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari at a press conference here on Friday. He said the decision was taken on the directives of his party’s central leadership, adding that PML workers would play their active role in ensuring success of the MQM candidate.

Mahfooz Yar Khan, who was present on the occasion, said he respected the party’s decision.
