LAHORE, Jan 31: Robbers struck many times and made off with cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees here on Wednesday. Two robbers intercepted Shahnawaz in Sattokatla and snatched Rs500,000 in cash from him.
Shahnawaz was returning to his J-Block Jauhar Town residence after withdrawing cash from a bank branch near Doctors Hospital.
Two robbers intercepted Zahid in the Lower Mall area and snatched cash and a cell phone from him, while as many robbers deprived Fizan of Rs4,000 and a cell phone.
Robbers intercepted a passer-by at Lakshmai Chowk and snatched Rs5,000 and a cell phone.
Two armed men intercepted Usman in W-Block in Defence and snatched his purse and a cell phone.
As many robbers intercepted Adnan at D-Block in Gulshan Ravi and snatched his purse and a cell phone.
Two people were deprived of their cell phones in Gulberg and Garhi Shahu areas, respectively.
Robbers intercepted a family riding a car on Walton Road and snatched Rs15,000, jewellery worth Rs100,000 and a cell phone.
Another family was deprived of cash and jewellery in Jauhar Town.
Musthtaq was robbed of Rs1,000 and a cell phone in the Green Town area.
SNATCHED/STOLEN: A car was snatched in New Anarkali while one car was driven away from Garden Town, respectively.
Two motorcycles were stolen from Misri Shah and Green Town areas, respectively.
GANG BUSTED: Lorry Adda and Gulshan-i-Iqbal police claimed on Wednesday to have apprehended six members of two gangs and recovered stolen items besides illegal weapons from them.
A team, headed by the Badami Bagh SPO, arrested three members of Sajju swindler gang when they were selling stolen cell phones.
Those arrested included ringleader Sajjad alias Sajju, Kursheed and Muhabat Ali.
The police recovered five cell phones, nine wristwatches, ornaments and illegal weapons from them.
