QUETTA, Jan 29: Rockets were fired at the Panjgur airport and a Frontier Corps camp on Sunday night. According to official sources, at least 6 rockets were fired at the airport and the camp from nearby mountains. Two rockets exploded in the airport area.

“The assailants wanted to target the colony of the Airport Security Force,” an official told Dawn. He said an exchange of fire between security forces and the attackers had taken place after the attack. “The airport, runway and colony remained safe,” he said.

The sources said four rockets exploded near the FC camp in Panjgur township. “A mosque near the camp was damaged,” a police official said.

He said the FC also fired rockets at positions of the attackers.
