KARACHI, Jan 29: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has condemned the government for allegedly planning to demolish mosques in the federal capital, and warned the authorities of a countrywide protest movement if it went ahead with the plan.

Speaking at a meeting at the Islamic Centre, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, on Monday, MMA leaders Prof Ghafoor Ahmad, Dr Farid Paracha, Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui and others claimed that 41 mosques had been identified for the demolition operation.

They observed that a few thousand people had held the entire country hostage and were indulged in such anti-Islam acts to please the West in order to perpetuate their rule over the country.

They also condemned the government over its discreet silence over the atrocities being meted out to the Muslims of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Predicting an early victory for the Kashmiri people, they said that a revolution was looming large on the occupied territories.
