Junior Volleyball from Feb 11

PESHAWAR, Jan 27: The National Junior Volleyball Championship will be staged from Feb 11-16 here at the PSB National Coaching Centre, Secretary NWFP Volleyball Association Shahid Kamal said on Saturday.

A meeting of the association was held at a local hotel here with President NWFP Volleyball Association Iqbal Khan in the chair. International referee Khalid Waqar, ex-Pakistan skipper and national coach Rahim Khan besides Fazal-e-Rabi attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed different ways and reviewed the arrangements to hold the national event in a befitting manner.

Shahid informed the meeting that all arrangements have been made to accommodate the teams besides providing them boarding and lodging.

He informed the meeting that Secretary Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Maj (r) Mohammad Afzal has also constituted a selection committee to monitor players’ performances during the championship.

He added that teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Northern Areas, Islamabad and hosts NWFP besides departmental teams like Pakistan Board, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Army, PAF, Pakistan Navy, Police, Wapda, PTCL, Railways and POF Wah will participate in the tournament.
