DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 26: Two children of a Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission official were burnt alive while their mother suffered injuries when a fire broke out in a room of their house owing to gas leakage on Thursday night.

Reports said PAEC local security in-charge Maj Raja Tahir’s wife tried to light a gas heater without realising that the room was full of gas owing to leakage and it caused a fire to erupt. The flames engulfed the entire room within minutes, leaving the two children dead.

Maj Tahir’s wife suffered burns and she was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Multan in critical condition.

Neither head of the family nor any official concerned was ready to disclose any information about the incident.
