Two PML groups reconcile

LAHORE, Jan 25: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi effected a rapprochement between two rival groups of the PML belonging to Sialkot and Gujranwala during meetings with them here on Thursday.

He said consultation and accommodation at every level was essential for facing every challenge and furthering the mission of public service. Party discipline should be strictly adhered to and personal and political differences set aside for organising and strengthening the PML, he said.

The chief minister effected the rapprochement between Minister of State for Railways Ali Asjad Malhi, MPA Chaudhry Mumtaz and Daska Tehsil Nazim Nasir Mehmood Cheema. Similarly, he resolved differences between Sialkot Nazim Akmal Cheema and Public Accounts Committee Chairman Azeem Noori Ghumman

He said assembly members should sink their political differences and collectively strive for the largest interests of the party besides playing their due role in resolving the problems of the people.

He directed the Daska Tehsil Nazim to fully cooperate with the Ali Asjad Malhi group for furthering the agenda of public service.

Mr Malhi said the PML would be organised at every level in accordance with the guidelines of the chief minister.

Industries Minister Ajmal Cheema said due to the leadership of the PML president and the chief minister all political differences had been resolved and the political groups of Sialkot would intensify the process of mutual consultation.

During a meeting with a political group of Gujranwala, the chief minister resolved differences between Tehsil Noshera MNA Bilal Ejaz, MPA Mudassar Qayyum Nara and Chaudhry Amanat Virk. Excise Minister Rana Shamshad Ahmad was also present on the occasion.

The assembly members announced that they would strictly follow the party discipline and make collective efforts for its progress.

Meanwhile, the chief minister also met union council nazims, naib nazims and councilors from Gujrat here. Education Minister Mian Imran Masood, Gujrat Nazim Chaudhry Shafat Husain, MNA Chaudhry Wajahat Husain, MPA Asghar Ali Gharal and former MPA Mian Haroon Masood were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister informed them about the steps being taken for the welfare of the people and development of the province.
