KARACHI: ST backs PPP candidate

KARACHI, Jan 25: Sunni Tehrik has announced to support PPP candidate Nafees Siddiqi contesting by-poll on NA-250 against candidate of the ruling coalition. This was announced on Thursday by ST central leader Mohammad Shahid Ghauri while speaking at a press conference at Markaz-i-Ahl Sunnah. Opposition leader in Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro, Nafees Siddiqi, Mohammad Shakeel Qadri of the ST and Mohammad Bux Lashari were also present.

The decision is in greater interest of the country and to eliminate terrorism particularly from Sindh to provide relief to the people, he maintained.

Mr Khuhro said there was dire need of making a wider opposition alliance to compete with the candidate of ruling alliance, as PML-Q candidate had withdrawn in favour of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate.—PPI
