HYDERABAD, Jan 24: A group of peasants on Wednesday appealed to authorities concerned to provide them protection against a landlord who they said was forcing them to leave their village after they asked him to pay them dues.

The peasants Dhani Bux Khaskheli, Soomar Khan, Ali Mohammad Khaskheli and Mehmood Khaskheli led by an Awami Tehrik leader Ghulam Farid Kalhoro told a press conference at the press club that Nawab Rehan Leghari whose lands their families had been tilling for last 50 years in Tando Allahyar taluka had not paid them their due for last five to six years.

When they demanded their money back he promised to clear dues up till 2006 but did not do so. Instead, he forced them to leave the village after depriving them of their share in agriculture produce, they said.
