KARACHI, Jan 24: Jamshed Town Nazim Muhammad Arif Ajakia has directed the officials concerned that all necessary steps should be taken in advance in connection with the next monsoon to avert a situation experienced during the last rainy season in which rainwater entered houses.

At a meeting held to review the progress of the development works, he asked the officials to ensure removal of encroachments from the nullahs and lifting of filth from the drains to avoid their choking during monsoon rains.

The town nazim said that the development works must be completed within the stipulated time without compromising on the quality. Besides, he said garbage cabins should be constructed at the earliest so that desired objectives of cleanliness work could be achieved.—APP
