Addressing a press conference Dr Zaidi’s wife Syeda Iram Zaidi, his mother, mother-in-law and sisters said they believed that he had been picked up at Karachi airport soon after he returned to Pakistan because the Pakistani consulate general in Dubai had confirmed in response to their queries that Dr. Zaidi had left for Karachi via Dubai airport on June 19, 2006. They said they had sent petitions to the president and prime minister, seeking their help in locating him.
