LAHORE, Jan 19: The Lahore High Court on Friday confirmed the bail of Faisal Farooq, the owner of a known bakers and confectioners chain, and his co-accused in the case of an infant’s death in a road accident. His counsel submitted that the police investigation and a probe conducted by the chief minister’s special cell had declared the accused innocent. The accused had been at large since Dec 11 after a district and sessions court rejected his bail before arrest.

Faisal had allegedly killed two-month-old Areeja in an accident in Defence area. Later, he and his accomplices thrashed some members of the deceased’s family for pursuing a case. — Staff Reporter
