KARACHI, Jan 18: The ABL and the Deutsche Bank have announced rates of profit on deposits for the half year, ending Dec 31, 2006.

According to a press release, the rates are as follows:

PLS savings deposits: Less than Rs100,000, 0.10pc; Rs100,000 to less than Rs1,000,000, 1.00pc; Rs1,000,000 to less than Rs10,000,000, 2.00pc; Rs10,000,000 to less than Rs100,000,000, 3.50pc; Rs100,000,000 and above 5.00pc.

Allied profit-plus deposit account: Rs500,000 to less than Rs1,000,000, 5.00pc; Rs1,000,000 to less than Rs5,000,000, 6.00pc; Rs5,000,000 to less than Rs10,000,000, 6.50pc; Rs10,000,000 to less than Rs25,000,000, 7.50pc; Rs25,000,000 and up to Rs50,000,000, 8.00pc. Allied profit-plus-term deposit account: One month: Rs500,000 to less than Rs5,000,000, 6.50pc; Rs5,000,000 to less than Rs10,000,000, 6.75pc; Rs10,000,000 to less than Rs15,000,000, 7.00pc; Rs15,000,000 to less than Rs20,000,000, 7.50pc; Rs20,000,000 and above 8.00pc; three months: Rs500,000 to less than Rs5,000,000, 7.00pc; Rs5,000,000 to less than Rs10,000,000, 7.25pc; Rs10,000,000 to less than Rs15,000,000, 7.50pc; Rs15,000,000 to less than Rs20,000,000, 8.00pc; Rs20,000,000 and above, 8.50pc; Six months: Rs500,000 to less than Rs5,000,000, 7.50pc; Rs5,000,000 to less than Rs10,000,000, 7.75pc; Rs10,000,000 to less than Rs15,000,000, 8.00pc; Rs15,000,000 to less than Rs20,000,000, 8.50pc; Rs20,000,000 and above, 9.00pc; 12 months: Rs500,000 to less than Rs5,000,000, 8.00pc; Rs5,000,000 to less than Rs10,000,000, 8.25pc; Rs10,000,000 to less than Rs15,000,000, 8.50pc; Rs15,000,000 to less than Rs20,000,000 9.00pc; Rs20,000,000 and above 9.50pc.

PLS term deposits: One month 0.75pc; two months 1.00pc; three months, 1.25pc; six months 1.50pc; one year 2.00pc; two years 2.00pc; three years 2.00pc; four years 2.00pc; five years 3.00pc; 10 years 4.00pc;

Allied Behtareen Bachat schemes (ABBS): 13.33pc;

PLS special notice deposits: Seven to 29 days: Less than Rs10,000,000, 0.50pc; Rs10,000,000 and above 3.00pc; 30 days and above: less than Rs10,000,000, 1.00pc; Rs10,000,000 and above 4.00pc.

DEUTSCHE BANK: The weighted average rates of profit and payment of return to the depositors as declared by the Deutsche Bank on PLS deposits for the period of July to Dec 31, 2006, are as follows:

Seven to 20 days notice deposits, 7.92pc; 30 days notice deposits, 8.00pc; savings accounts, 0.70pc; three months deposits, 8.24pc; six months term deposits, 8.77pc, says a press release.
