KOHAT, Jan 14: Four police personnel of the Rescue 15 staff posted to help people in difficult moments have been punished for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl belonging to Darsamand area of Hangu district, a senior official told Dawn on Sunday.

A member of the provincial assembly and several police officers played a key role in hushing up the whole issue by just suspending four personnel and transferring the in-charge of the Rescue 15, Inspector Ibraheem, to a remote area of Shakardarra.

Those nominated in the case are: a ticketing officer, constable Said Noor, constable Abid and Talwar Hussain.

The latter was relieved of the charges on the intervention of the MPA when he handed over the girl to the family warning them of dire consequences

in case they made the issue public.

Insiders said that the girl had come to see her fiancé on Eid ul Fitr. She left Kohat late in the evening for home, but fell prey to two police personnel of the Rescue 15.

As she was alone the staff seduced her. She was taken to an unknown place and assaulted the whole night.

One of the Rescue 15 personnel, however, informed the high ups about the incident who hushed up the case and arranged a patch-up with the victim and her family through the MPA.

So far no FIR has been registered against any of the criminals.—Correspondent
